The ACUMA Incorporated Georgeson Torney Award
The Georgeson Torney award was donated by Andrew O’Brien, 1999 President of ACUMA, and named after Michael Georgeson, Secretary / Manager of UTS Union and Michael Torney, General Manager of Latrobe University Union, for their commitment and outstanding service to the Australasian Campus Union profession over many years.
The criterion for this annual award is that it be given to an outstanding member of staff who is dedicated and committed to the provision of outstanding campus service for members of their respective campus service organisation. The award is traditionally awarded to staff members who have made an ongoing commitment to a union, guild or student association over a number of years.
All staff are eligible for nomination with the only exception being that General Managers or CEO’s may not be nominated for the award.
The Georgeson Torney Award is judged prior to the annual ACUMA Conference and is awarded at the ACUMA Conference Dinner and Awards Presentation.
