Social media in higher education in Australia and New Zealand

ACUMA higher education news updates on Twitter

As with the daily news feeds outlined below, we add one item from each category of the day's news to our Twitter profile, covering general education news, international news, and technology news of broad relevance to the university student experience.

As with the daily news feed, we provide only one item from each category via Twitter in order to preserve value for our membership in receiving the full news listing for each day.

The monthly education news round-ups, collated from the daily email lists provided by ACUMA to its members, can also be viewed on Scribd, a leading document-sharing system.

As before, the archive section for each daily email list is linked to above, whilst the main ACUMA monthly news summaries on Scribd can be viewed at http://www.scribd.com/ACUMAinc.

ACUMA's monthly higher education news summaries are available online to view in flashbook format, courtesy of Issuu.com. Summaries are categorised according to the daily ACUMA member email lists and are available to view from the main ACUMA section on Issuu.com at http://www.issuu.com/acuma.

Higher education news feeds - RSS

The news items gathered and distributed to ACUMA member organisations are collected daily across general, international and technology news with relevance to the student sector. One item from each category is added to the public daily news feeds; members receive the full daily news item list, which contains multiple items under each category.

To make use of the ACUMA higher education Australia news feeds, you will need feed reader software, a feed reader plugin for your email client, or use of an online feed reading service such as Google Reader.

ACUMA on Facebook

ACUMA's Facebook pages provide a platform for the publicising of our events and activities. Items such as the monthly regional member networking sessions are listed here, alongside the annual ACUMA Conference.

These can also be found on the ACUMA Events pages in this site.

ACUMA on YouTube

ACUMA's presence on YouTube relies primarily on coverage of member and associate organisation events and activities.

Campus events and activities, and national programs such as the AACA National Campus Band Competition, are covered on YouTube, alongside links to video coverage and highlights of the Australian University Sport UniGames.

ACUMA on LinkedIn

The ACUMA profile on LinkedIn provides background information on the organisation and its mission, whilst also providing a platform for contact primarily with the staff that work in the student organisation and campus services sector in Australia and New Zealand.

ACUMA Incorporated blog

The ACUMA blog has been established to provide content from, for example, the ACUMA newsletter, and additional items that may not fit neatly into our education news updates.
